GrayBeck

The Ledger

Our record is written in running systems.

Platforms built and operated across institutional finance, legal operations, manufacturing, and civic government. What follows is what runs — and what we are building next, labeled honestly.

02Flagship Engagement

The systems behind a $20B+ portfolio.

A global institutional lender ran a $20B+ portfolio — fund structures, CLO vehicles, direct lending — on more than 1,200 disconnected workbooks. Monthly reporting took weeks of manual consolidation. The business logic lived in macros two people understood. The audit trail was effectively nonexistent.

A GrayBeck engineer embedded inside the operation. We built a centralized warehouse with canonical keys, automated loan-tape ingestion that validates data at the door, and integrated directly with the servicing API so portfolio data arrives structured instead of retyped. Analysts kept Excel — an add-in we built connects their sheets straight to the database.

One system became several: fund reporting and waterfall engines, closing automation, audit tooling. We shipped each one and stayed to run it — releases move through a signed, multi-stage deploy pipeline, and the platform is still in active development years in. Forward-deployed means an operating commitment, not a handoff.

03In the Lab

Prototypes, labeled as prototypes.

Not everything we build is in production, and this page will not pretend otherwise. These are working prototypes in active development — real code, early stage, no shipped claims.

  • ShopworksSupport replies drafted from order data — a human approves every one before it sends.
  • The SpreadSocial prediction pools among friends, settled in one place.
  • CrestAn insurance-operations dashboard, prototype stage.

Ahead

Personal trading infrastructure comes next — the operational tooling institutional desks rely on, rebuilt for individuals. It will appear on this page before it appears anywhere else.
